- Introduction to Design Project 2 - Introduction to Team 18 - Create Group Chat for communication - Assign Roles (Manager, Administrator, Coordinator, Subject Matter Expert, 

Chairs, Notetakers) - Meet with Residency Students to discuss ideas - Diagnose the assigned patient 

PROGRESS: 

- Analyzed and Listed key features of the patient’s symptoms - Made connections to lifestyle and observed MRIs, CAT Scans and X-rays - Formed patient diagnosis of Poliovirus - Form a Need Statement

- Compared and contrasted various design features - Formulated a refined design sketch using ideas from each individual design - Identified key features of the Refined Sketch - Ensured the refined sketch satisfied the formulated Need Statement

- Discuss Hypothetical Material Selection based on various options calculated - Apply calculations to determine the efficiency of the implant based on material 

used - Analyze interaction between hip and bone measurements of the patient and the 

material used 

PROGRESS: 

- Calculated fatigue life, fracture risk, stress reduction of a cobalt chromium 

implant - Determined the proximity to bone modulus - Identified the relationship between stress values and cycles before implant failure

components - Determine key features of each material, form a table to analyze and compare. - Select one material for the femoral stem and one material for the acetabular 

component

- Research involvement of various materials in the field of implants and prosthesis - Determined the proximity to bone modulus, alongside other material 

characteristics
