Functionality:

>Velcro straps around wrist to adjust the stretch of the median nerve

​

>Sticky Tack grooves on the palm placed strategically between the metacarpal bones to provide comfortable spacing

 

>cardboard plank at the back of the hand to provide stability

​

> Bubble Wrap to provide cushioning at all times

​

>Felt "rings" around third and fourth fingers attached to cardboard plank by pipe cleaners to provide adjustable stretch to release tension and pain

​

>popsicle sticks at the base of the palm to provide additional stability

​

>opening at bottom of the palm to provide easy access to wrist for ventilation and medicine/icing

​

- Limits contraction of transverse carpal ligament (median nerve)

- Stabilizes wrist to prevent overextension

- relieves pain (through stretching of metacarpal bones of third and fourth fingers)

- Provides breathable comfort and stability

-Minimizes pressure on median nerve

- Allows for basic functionality (ex. flipping light switch)

- prevents further deterioration of senses and atrophy of hands and fingers

- Allows easy access to wrist (for ice and medication)
